Back on Track: A New Challenge Begins at Mugello in Dunlop CIV Superbike with Gas Racing Team

The Mugello weekend marks the beginning of an exciting new sporting chapter. After two seasons in the Endurance World Championship (EWC), I am thrilled to officially announce my return to the Campionato Italiano Velocità (CIV), Superbike category, riding the Yamaha R1 for the Gas Racing Team.

A Choice of Heart and Vision

This year, together with my wife Serena, we made an important decision: to dedicate more energy and time to the growth of "Twentyone", our academy for young riders. This commitment led us to step away from the World Endurance Championship, but with the goal of returning to the CIV—a championship I consider to be of the highest level and one that always provides great motivation.

Joining Gas Racing Team

Finding a competitive seat so close to the start of the season is never easy, but fate played in our favor. The call from Stefano Morri, Team Manager of Gas Racing Team, arrived after the first round of the championship. I know the value of this team well; just last year, during the final round of the CIV at Mugello, we secured two podiums together. The synergy was immediate, and our ambitions are high.

"Despite the limited time available—having completed only one day of testing—our determination is at its peak. We know we have the potential to fight for top positions."

A special thanks goes to those who made all of this possible: Team Principal Paolo Melizzi, Team Manager Stefano Morri, my sponsors, supporters, and every single person working behind the scenes to bring this project to life.

See you on the track at Mugello!
