Round six of the FIM Enel MotoE World Championship has concluded at the Red Bull Ring, located in Spielberg, Austria.
A brand-new track for Randy Krummenacher, who placed tenth in qualifying on Friday.
A fourth row start for the Team Dynavolt Intact rider, who finished race 1 in eleventh place before finding better feeling with the bike in race 2 to cross the line seventh.
With the sixth round behind him, the Swiss rider is feeling positive ahead of the last two rounds, not least because they will play out at two tracks he knows very well. The FIM Enel MotoE World Championship will visit the Barcelona circuit on 1-2 September before concluding at Misano the following weekend.
#RK3: “A challenging weekend. I didn't know the track, which is very tough and technical, but I didn't expect any real problems. In the end, I found it really hard to find feeling with the bike while also understanding the track, also because we have so few laps available to us. In practice it took me time to learn and understand what I'd need to improve and I ended up in Q1. In qualifying 1, I finished second but in Q2 I was unable to do better than tenth. It's a big ask to make up places from row four over just seven laps but I hoped to be able to do just that. In race 1 I remained further back, finishing eleventh, while in race 2 I found better feeling with the bike and was able to close seventh.
We now have just two rounds, or four races, to go. We'll be at Barcelona and then Misano, two tracks I know well and really enjoy.
I hope to be able to score some better results so that I finish my first year in the electric category in a positive way.”
